As per Glynn's request can managers put any wish list requests for additions to the game on here.

Please first check the faq's rather than just asking for stuff that isn't possible.

I will then add any that survive discussion in this initial post here removing all excess comments once an idea has been fully debated/agreed upon.

WISHLIST REQUESTS - No particular order

1...More youth control (pick team, tactics via new client)

2...More Tables and more in-depth league tables. Split of Home and Away, Recent form etc

3...More detailed match reports, assists, penalty misses, reason for penalty award etc

4...Top 50 instead of top 20 for own league's best players (with keeper list updated to work better)

5...Top list for own league's youth players

6...Full details on fixtures page of who played, % of game, scoreres, times etc

7...More top lists for appearances, goals, assists etc (once the program correctly picks up loan and sub appearances and goals scored and conceded whilst out on loan).

8...Next week's fixtures

9...Show all miscellaneous records each week instead of rotating them over a 3 week period

10..Club followings reset to the divisional average when a team becomes vacant

11..More variations on tv revenue to cover more lower league clubs

12..Man of the Match for both sides (with more emphasis on player abilities rather than just picking the first listed 10 out of 10).

13..Rewrite disciplinary tables

14..Split of youth tables to match first team league tables

15..Auction Market - reduce to 3 weeks from 4 weeks

16..Transfer history in and out for each team individually

17..More hyperlinks at the top of turns - to AM, Player Status etc

18..Clearer descriptions on player scout reports (ie replace repeated descriptions)

19..Ability to scout another game (ie get full report from another game each week)

20..Clear description of own team's attack on defence and setpiece/corner rating without having to scout yourself Eg Good, very good etc

21..All Auction markets sent with turns.

22..Tactics from last match being default for following week

Yep this all comes under the more tactical options and can't happen anytime soon because the client cannot handle it without a rewrite.

Can we keep the suggestions to those that Glynn can realistically do now please as I know he is looking more for suggestions for additions to turns themselves rather than stuff connected with the client. Smile

That's true, would be nice to get started on something simple. I won't be adding anything straight off but once I decide to do something I'll put a post up to see if anybody doesn't like it and see where it goes from there. So long as there aren't many (or preferably any) complaints then I'll go ahead when I get round to it Razz

Just to let you all know where I currently stand in terms of my programming efforts. I've managed to rip out large parts of the existing friendly creator program to get started on what can basically be called 'SSClient2', which will initially just let you do some extra stuff, such as (maybe) picking your friendly squad. I've discussed this with people before, but please be aware that it may be a very slow process as I'm not currently in a programming mood (after having spent so much time programming SS2 which is now abandoned).

Good things come to those who wait. Think we all understand that 'client2' will be a while in the making so trying to suggest little things to improve game without too much work.

its a shame about SS2 Confused

Is there no way you could take the basics of SS1 and integrate them into a newer more easier and flexible programme!? Smile

I'm going to lock this thread after my post because it's going to ruin Rich's wish-list which should remain as a nice tidy thread. Well, I'll leave this decision to Rich, but I'm locking it for now.

Anyway, the main problem with SS2 (in my opinion) is simply that it was too hard to play and people nowadays can't be bothered learning new stuff - can't blame them, I'm exactly the same. With that in mind, I'm worried with the basic setup of the SSClient2, which will require people to receive a text file (the same one you receive already), save it in a special folder (you'll probably need to manually create a c:\soccerstar folder), use the program, then find the file in that folder and send it back to me.

Now those of you who are successfully using the current SSClient won't have a problem with this, but several people have dropped out of the game over the past month simply due to the fact that they can't manage this sort of thing and have found the SSClient too complicated to use. This concerns me because I'm hoping that the SSC2 will be easy and good enough to perhaps tempt new people into playing the game.

I'm going to look at ways at simplifying this, but I'm not sure it's possible, but in the meantime, I'm stuck at this phase because I don't see much point making another game which is too complicated for people to play (like SS2 was).
